We don’t guarantee you’ll be able to cash a check immediately. Management may decide there needs to be a hold placed on the check and you’ll have to wait. Check cashing can be done in the branch only. Here are a few situations you may encounter when depositing a check:
- If you have a check in your name and you want to deposit into your WWFCU account, you just need a valid form of ID and to sign the back of the check.
- If you have a check in a non-member’s name and want to deposit it into your account, you’ll need to bring the person into the branch with you and you’ll both have to sign the back of the check. Be sure you both have valid forms of ID. Or, you have the non-member sign the back of the check and you can bring in a copy of their valid ID. There’s a 5% fee for depositing a non-member check.
- If you have a check with both yours and someone else’s name on it, but you don’t share an account with them, you’ll both need to sign the back of the check before depositing it into your account.
- Anyone can deposit a check into your WWFCU account for you as long as you’ve signed the back of the check. The person making the deposit won’t receive any of your account details if they’re not on the account with you.
