I’m writing today to address recent developments that have understandably raised questions and concerns within the credit union community. As you may have heard, two members of the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Board were recently removed from their positions. While this action has garnered national attention and sparked discussion about regulatory oversight and governance, I want to take a moment to speak directly to you-our members-about what this means for Wayne Westland FCU and how we’re responding.

First and foremost, I want to emphasize that the safety and soundness of our credit union remains strong. The NCUA, as our primary regulator, continues to operate and fulfill its mission to ensure the stability of the credit union system and protect members’ deposits. Despite the change in board leadership, the agency’s core functions, including examinations, insurance, and compliance, continue without interruption.

At Wayne Westland FCU, our primary focus has always been serving you-our member-owners-with integrity, transparency, and stability. We continue to follow all regulatory guidelines and maintain robust internal controls to ensure your funds are protected and your trust is honored.

Changes at the federal level remind us how important it is to have strong, member-focused leadership in both regulation and operations. We are closely monitoring developments from the NCUA and remain in active communication with our league partners and regulatory advisors to ensure that we’re fully informed and prepared to respond as needed.
